Tempora Mutantur đŞ´
No condition is permanent, and that's one of my favorite subconscious lifelines.
With the years God has graced me to live on earth, Iâve come to realize that nothing is permanent, nothing is bound to stay the same as long as you're alive and have God (non-negotiable).
Only God doesnât change. God is the only constant âvariable,â not the one mathematics made us believe. Haha. Lol
(That was a joke so you should laugh. Iâm funny nowđ. Anyway)
âTempora Mutanturâ is a term I often use to describe things that have a short-term span. Tempora Mutantur is an excerpt from a full saying Tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis, meaning "Times are changed; we also are changed with them." Times are changed, and we are also changed with them.
Can you relate to this statement yet? I like the saying because it just points out to us that for every season of life that has us hanging mid-air, questioning why this and that is happening, we must look at the brighter side, even in despair, and believe that this too shall pass. Why? Times change! And we are changed with them (for good).
Every human will undoubtedly encounter difficulties, trials, storms, temptations, and even maybe addictions at one point in their lives. But scripture gives us the template we need to follow. As Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.â (John 16:33)
And there's another scripture that says, "Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.â (1 Peter 5:9)
The only escape out of hard times and seasons is God! God and His already spoken Word. Thatâs why I believe thereâs something powerful about using scriptures to prayâitâs like reminding God of His Word. And guess what? His Words donât go out without accomplishing the purpose for which they were sent out, just as itâs written, âSo is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me emptyâ (Isaiah 55:11).
Another thing I want us to understand is that victory will not always be instant. It wonât always be immediately after that stretched prayer or that long fast, but one thing I can assure you of is that if you trust God enough, you will laugh last. Youâll be at the rejoicing end.
Why is your soul despaired? Why is your heart weary? Has He spoken a word and it didnât come to pass? So why do you think He will fail now? Has He failed before? My dearly beloved, donât give up on God because He wonât give up on you! Heâs able! You can depend on Him for all you need.
âBut may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.â
