I am a funny person by default, at least that’s my opinion of me. It’s what I believe. I make jokes that are funny and unique to only me and laugh at them.
Oh. You can relate too?
So we plenty sef
Look at that. Lol
Well, I have a light joke for you at the end of this mail. Please make sure you laugh, even if you don't find it funny, just laugh😭Encourage this talent. E no easy
I saw a video last year around this season of “Love”. May I add love of all kinds? Cause it’s definitely not just agape. The video was about a lady singing a really awful Valentine song, I don’t know if the goal was comedy but that was what it sounded like to me.
I laughed! It was funny.
So this year, I’m scrolling on Instagram again and I find that same video for the second time, boom! And I’m asking myself, “Why am I seeing this video now? Is it because Valentine is around the corner again?”
And of course, I have the answer. It’s clearly because Valentine's is around the corner again
Trying to make meaning of this video scenario in its relation to Valentine, I have come up with a conclusion that I will be walking you through in this letter.
I really want this letter to be brief so you can wrap up and get on with the other things you want to do
That video is only relevant when Valentine's is around the corner. If I had seen that video sometime in April during the Easter period, it’d come off as odd and out of place. Right? Think about it
Since the scope or generally believed inspiration of Valentine is love, why can’t you put a bet on yourself to love yourself in all seasons and not just that one month that has been themed the month of “love”?
I need you to understand this
Unlike the video, that only comes up during this season, can you choose to be relevant in all seasons by intentionally working on yourself as an act of love?
Or would February be the only month you suddenly begin to crave love and validation yearly due to the pressure all around?
Let this be no ordinary Valentine's for you
Let it be one to remember
Not because of the presence of a human (if you have a Val) but because you’ve learnt and are still learning to love yourself with or without someone. Because you are still conscious of God’s love for you. And I hope you know that only His validation of the life you live matters most
So ask yourself, the current life I live, is God honoured with it. Can I boldly say he is proud of me?
One of my goals for this year is to greatly prioritize myself as an act of love. Myself before all else in every sense
Spiritually
Financially
Academically
And all the other “ly (s)”
I asked if you would be my val because I want us to go on this journey together
This year, it should be your turn to experience love from your own lens. It should be the year you would be your own Val. This year, love yourself! I beg you. Love yourself!
Know who you are. It’s time to stop living like you are an observer in your own body. Get to know you!
Know your likes
Your dislikes
Reevaluate your hobbies
Prioritize your health. Read articles on how to get better in areas you are lagging, watch YouTube videos on your areas of interest, exercise, eat well, sleep well, and pray! Read books, allow yourself to be you and do you
But it starts with the big question. Do you love yourself? Enough?

Ps: my headline for this mail came from something funny I thought of during the week (the reason for my introductory paragraph).
Read and send me dollars😌(Cause my brain dey work. Brain La hot kaiii😭🔥)
Oya oya read it
The man must grow like a mango tree. You wonder, why mango tree? The name is a command, don't you see it? Man-go. The man must first go before he grows.
Like Abraham, you will first have to leave your Father's house (If you go leave your Papa house, I no dey ooo)
The man must first GO
And so I pieced it together. For a man to go, he must first love himself
And that's where Valentine came in since it's the season of love.
The mango is by default a naturally sweet fruit, like that monkey, hold on to your mango. flavour your own mango (your life) depending on how sweet you want it to be and how proud you want to be of the decisions you are making now.
E make abi e no make?😂😌
O deep abi
Okay that’s enough
Have a blessed week ahead
I love you and I want to see you soar
And remember that God loves you.
“But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 AMP
